- Om het aantal deelnemende entiteiten aan de activiteiten van het SMURF-project te vergroten
- Om directe informatie te verkrijgen over Europese kleine bosbouwbedrijven (EU SFH) en boseigenaren
- Om de diversiteit aan bosverenigingen en coöperaties in heel Europa in kaart te brengen
- Om de activiteiten van het SMURF-project in zoveel mogelijk landen en regio’s van Europa te promoten
Bovenstaande doelstellingen worden uitgevoerd aan de hand van verschillende activiteiten:
- Enquêtes voor private boseigenaars over alle aspecten van bosbeheer
- Berichten op website en sociale media om boseigenaars te informeren over het project en bosbeheer
- Deelname aan een Europese SMURF conferentie die doorging in mei in Rome, Italië.
- Verzamelen van informatie over de juridische basis van bosbeheer, bosuitbreiding, bosbehoud in elke regio
De Koepel van Vlaamse Bosgroepen vertegenwoordigt De Bosgroepen in dit project. De laatste activiteiten van dit project zullen afgerond worden tegen eind 2025, erna zullen de nodige inzichten ook gedeeld worden via het SMURF project en de projectpartners.

De Koepel van Vlaamse Bosgroepen heeft ook een dossier ingediend om deel te nemen aan het 2e SMURF project, dat van start zal gaan vanaf 2026 en 48 maanden zal lopen. Dit 2e project heeft ook tot doel om concrete projecten uit te voeren op het terrein die ook een impact hebben voor bosiegenaars in heel Europa.
[English version] De Bosgroepen are currently participating in the first phase of the European SMURF project. This project focuses on knowledge sharing and exchange between organizations in Europe and supporting small forest owners in managing their forests. More specifically, the project focuses on the following objectives:- Enlarge the number of entities participating in the SMURF project’ activities
- Obtain direct information about European Small Forest Holdings (Eu SFH) and Forest Owners
- Capture the diversity of forest associations and cooperatives throughout Europe
- Get to promote the SMURF project’ activities in as many countries and regions of Europe as possible
The above objectives are being implemented through various activities:
- Questions for private forest owners on all aspects of forest management
- Posts on the website and social media to inform forest owners about the project and forest management
- Participation in the European SMURF conference held in Rome, Italy, in May
- Collecting information on the legal basis of forest management, forest expansion, and forest conservation in each region
The Koepel van Vlaamse Bosgroepen represents De Bosgroepen in this project. The final activities of this project will be completed by the end of 2025, after which the necessary insights will be shared through the SMURF project and the project partners.

The Koepel has also submitted an application to participate in the second SMURF project, which will begin in 2026 and run for 48 months. This second project also aims to implement concrete projects on the ground that will have an impact on forest owners throughout Europe.
